Scott Thomas is a Democratic member of the North Carolina General Assembly representing the state's second Senate district, including constituents in Carteret, Craven and Pamlico counties. An attorney from New Bern, North Carolina, Thomas is currently (2003-2004 session) serving in his second term in the state Senate. Previously, Thomas served one term in the state House. In addition to being a State Senator, Thomas is a partner in the New Bern law firm Chesnutt, Clemmons, Thomas and Peacock.
He was born on July 19, 1966. He has a wife, Sherri, and two daughters, Sarah and Shelby.
