Pauline McLynn (born 10th July 1962) is an Irish actress best known for playing Mrs Doyle in the TV series Father Ted and in adverts for the Inland Revenue.
Studied Drama at Trinity College, Dublin. Heavily involved in Trinity's Players Society (acting) and ran unsucessfully for Students' Union Entertainment Officer.
McLynn is also a successful comedienne and novelist, producing books such as
The Woman on the Bus (2004), and appearing on numerous panel shows, including Have I Got News For You
and If I Ruled The World.
