John Lone (尊龍, pinyin: Zūn Lóng, born on Oct 13, 1952 in Hong Kong as 吳國良) is an Asian actor.He is an orphan and choose his screen name to reflect that fact.He has trained in Hong Kongs' Chiu Chiu Academy and Peking Opera Troupe before emigrating to the USA.He continued his performing arts studies at American Academy of Dramatic Arts at Pasadena, CA.He moved to New York City, where he worked in the theater. He received an Obie Award forhis performance in the play
FOB, in which he also did the Choreography.
His first major role in films was as the title character in
Iceman.He is probably best known for his portrayal of the Emperor Puyi in The Last Emperor.
Despite his Hollywood fame, he chose to further his career in the Asian market.He played an emperor again in a 30 episode TV drama series 《乾隆與香妃》in 2004.He also has a successful career as a Hong Kong singing artist.
