Jim Siedow (b. June 12, 1920 - d. November 20, 2003) Actor, best known for his role in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974).
Seidow was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He began acting in his high school drama class, and later on, moved to New York City, New York, and started appearing in theatre productions there. During World War II, Seidow served with the Army Air Corps, and after the war, Seidow moved to Chicago, Illinois and started doing radio work. While in Chicago, he met and married an actress named Ruth in the September of 1946, his wife up to his death. They were to have three children.
The two moved to Houston, Texas, soon after their marriage and Seidow continued acting in Houston, creating one of Houston's original local community theatres. In fact, he directed the first production of "Who's Afraid of Virgina Woolf" by Edward Albee in Houston. In 1971, Seidoe appeared in his first movie, a obscure one titled
The Windsplitter, playing a character named Mr. Smith. He followed this with his most famous role as Drayton Sawyer (Old Man) in the cult classic The Texas Chainsaw Massacre in 1974.
