Jerry Doyle (born 16 July 1956 in Brooklyn, New York) is an American actor best known for his role as Michael Garibaldi on the 1990's science fiction television series Babylon 5
. His other science fiction acting credits include Sliders
and Gangster World.
Previously a corporate jet pilot and a stockbroker, Doyle made an abrupt career change into acting in 1991, and
Babylon 5 was his first significant role. In 1998, Doyle, a Republican, ran unsuccessfully for the United States House of Representatives in California's 24th Congressional district.
Doyle is the ex-husband of actress
Andrea Thompson who played the role of telepath Talia Winters in the first two seasons of Babylon 5.
Doyle is now a talk radio host on several networks nationwide, discussing politics, current events, and popular culture. He currently resides in Las Vegas, Nevada with his fiancée.
