Glenn Hughes was a singer, bass guitar player and guitarist. Best known as the bass player and backing vocalist in Deep Purple from 1973 to 1976, he has also played with Trapeze and Black Sabbath, and recorded various solo works
He is not to be confused with the similarly-named singer and dancer who portrayed the biker/leatherman as a founder member of The Village People. That Glenn Hughes died on March 4, 2001, aged 50, after a long illness.
