Ellen Muth (born March 6, 1981, in Milford, Connecticut) is an American film and television actress, most famous for playing Georgia "George" Lass on the Showtime series Dead Like Me.She is also a member of Mensa, a student at the Lee Strasburg School, races automobiles, and collects Burmese cats. Her awards include Best Actress at the AFI for The Young Girl and the Monsoon (1999) and best supporting actress at the Japanese Film Festival for Dolores Claiborne (1995), in which she made her screen debut.
Muth is also known for playing Jane in the Lifetime film The Truth About Jane (2001) in which she portrayed a young teenaged girl who falls in love with another girl, thus discovering her homosexuality. The film dealt primarily with the subsequent drama that ensues when her mother (played by
Stockard Channing) discovers the "truth about Jane".
