Ben Affleck: Romance
In 2002 it was announced that he was engaged to actress/singer
Jennifer Lopez, and the relationship between the two received an extremely ham-handed treatment by the entertainment media. Both subsequently lost fans and credibility, probably due in part to the saturation of Affleck/Lopez interviews and projects, and especially after the notorious failure of Gigli, which in part was due to the negative publicity (generated for no apparent reason except for the fact they were both famous) which led to the couple being dubbed "Bennifer". They broke up in 2004, with both blaming the media attention. Affleck also had a high-profile romance with actress
Gwyneth Paltrow. Most recently, he has been romantically linked with Alias star
Jennifer Garner, who costarred alongside him in Daredevil; perhaps due to the fact that Garner is somewhat less rich-and-famous than Lopez, attempts by the media to dub this pairing "Bennifer II" have, so far, been unsuccessful.
