In an effort to quiet criticism and suppress challenges, Ashida Kim has established rules for a $10,000 Challenge for anyone wishing to test his skill. Many consider these rules to be in Ashida Kim's favor as they place significant financial and legal stress on the challenger, who is required to pay $10,000 to Ashida Kim, as well as post a $25,000 bond, and cover all expenses of the event. Several individuals have come forward to challenge him to this match, and presented evidence of the money, to which Ashida Kim has backed down and then claimed it was a publicity stunt. The somewhat dubious rules of the challenge itself seem to be designed as roadblocks to efforts to require Ashida Kim to demonstrate genuine proof of the abilities he professes to teach in his publications.
Note that despite the name, nothing in the rules states that the challenger will receive $10,000 if he wins.
#The challenger must post a $25,000 bond. If the challenger does not appear within 5 minutes of being called to the ring for the match, the bond is forfeit, the challenger disqualified and the match awarded to Ashida Kim.#The challenger must pay $10,000 to Ashida Kim at least 30 days before the match. The challenger must also cover the travel expenses for Ashida Kim and three others to the site of the match, and supply food and lodging for the duration of the event.#The challenger must provide documentation and certification from local sports authorities governing such events attesting to his physical fitness and credentials sufficient to demonstrate ring worthiness. The challenger must also sign a disclaimer that absolves Ashida Kim, his agents and assignees from any financial, criminal or moral liabilities in the event that the challenger is killed, crippled or maimed.#The match must be held in a public venue to which admission is paid, of which the Ashida Kim will receive half of all gate and concession receipts. One of Ashida Kim's party will supervise all ticket and concession sales and all amounts due will be paid in full before the match.#Ashida Kim will be declared the winner under the following conditions:#*5-second pinfall#*Submission by the opponent using matte or pat-out#*If the opponent is unable to answer the bell#*If the opponent is knocked out or rendered unconscious by a choke or stranglehold for a standard referee's 10-count#*If the ringside physician determines he is unable to continue#*If the opponent fails to appear for the match, or is disqualified for unsportsmanlike conduct.
